Abu Dhabi gets Indian centre (TOI,Mum,27Feb09,Pg17)

An overseas Indian centre would be set up in Abu Dhabi to facilitate better interaction with the Indian community in the Gulf. The centre has been shifted out of Dubai for functional advantages.

Inflation at 15-mth low, rate cut seen (TOI,Mum,27Feb09,Pg23)

Continuing its downward slide, inflation fell to about a 15-month low of 3.36%, providing greater room to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to cut interest rates to perk up the slowing economy. This would prompt RBI to cut key rates or other tools to spur economic growth as the government does not have much space left to boost the economy.

Nano car to roll out on March 23 (ET,Mum,27Feb09,Pg1)

THE world’s cheapest car, the widely-awaited Nano, will be launched on March 23, Tata Motors said on Thursday. The company will accept bookings from the second week of April. In India, Nano’s entry might lead to growth in the domestic market.

The car may also find a niche abroad, as cash-strapped consumers are likely to look for bargains. The company displayed the Nano at the Geneva Motor Show last year and plans to present the European version at the show in March 2009. It plans to sell Nano in Europe for € 5,000.

BMW beats Merc to top slot in Jan 2009 (ET,Mum,27Feb09,Pg5)

BMW has overtaken rival luxury car brand Mercedes Benz in India to the No. 1 slot — a position the latter held unchallenged for a decade. BMW India sold 270 cars in January 2009, while Mercedes sold 170.

In 2008, BMW sold 2,908 cars, as compared to 1,293 in 2007. The company manufactures the 3 and 5 series at its Chennai facility, which accounts for more than 80% of BMW sales in India.

How Bipasha gets scoops on John? (BT,Mum,27Feb09,Pg40)

Well, this babe undoubtedly has a super sexy body, and now she’s gifted with super powers, too. Now before Johnny boy goes into panic mode, let us give him a heads up really quick.

We’re only talking about Bipasha Basu’s screen-powers, alright (of course, we all know about her super screen presence, especially with the bikini). In Aa Dekhe Zara, Bips and Neil supposedly possess a camera with super powers, so we asked the lovely lady what she would like to see through the power-cam if she owned it in reality.

She quickly said, “I would love to see how my house shapes up finally. It’s been under renovation for the last six months, and I can’t wait to see what it looks like.” Aahh! And we thought she’d want to see stuff like… what is John doing every minute of the day or which B-town babe is slipping into the bikini next. And more juicy khabars like that. C’mon supergal, you could do better than that!

Deepika’s dugna hit formula (BT,Mum,27Feb09,Pg40)

The lovely Miss D is chilling at home and revelling in success of her recent hit. Of whattt? Yeah we know… that’s what you’re thinking lovelies, right? Trust us, she’s definitely not celebrating a movie called CC2C (Chandni Chowk to China it is), but the gal is super thrilled with the amazing response to her number in Billu ‘Love Mera Hit Hit’.

Apparently a lot of producers have made a beeline for one hit item number with Deepika Padukone. She’s a hottie, alright, but she no item gal, dudes.

She hasn’t even signed on any new projects recently; she wants to keep her dates free, so that when a biggie comes her way, she can grab it without an afterthought.

Wonder what she is waiting for? Maybe another chance with SRK? Or a Bachchan this time. Who knows? Well, you gotta be doubly sure gal; a double role doesn’t come with dugna success, does it?

‘Sex-ercise is best way to stay healthy’ (TOI,Mum,27Feb09,Pg23)
A Workout Between The Sheets Not Only Lowers Heart Attack Risk, It Also Helps Keep Wrinkles Away

For people struggling to squeeze in a fitness routine into their daily lives, Britain’s national health agency has a way out — a workout between the sheets.

According to the NHS Direct website, “sexercise” can lower the risk of heart attacks and helps people live longer, reports BBC News website.

Endorphins released during orgasm stimulate immune system cells, which also helps target illnesses like cancer, as well as wrinkles, the National Health Service website states.

Sexual health experts said such claims could not be scientifically proven.

“It’s good to see the NHS are promoting sexual wellbeing,” Melissa Sayer was quoted by the Guardian newspaper. “Yes, there is evidence that sex has benefits for mental wellbeing, but to say there is a link with reduced risk of heart disease and cancer is taking the argument too far.”

NHS Direct, however, told the paper the content was “backed by science and clinical evidence” and “isn’t just a bit of fun”.

The advice, published under the headline “Get more than zeds in bed”, is one of several sexual health-related articles to be found on the NHS Direct website.

Sex with a little energy and imagination provides a workout worthy of an athlete, the article says.

“Forget about jogging round the block or struggling with situps. Sex uses every muscle group, gets the heart and lungs working hard, and burns about 300 calories an hour.”

The advice suggests “regular romps this winter” could lead to a better body and a younger look.

Increased production of endorphins “will make your hair shine and your skin smooth”, the website adds.

“If you’re worried about wrinkles — orgasms even help prevent frown lines from deepening.”

The article goes on to say that orgasms release “painkillers” into the bloodstream, which helping keep mild illnesses like colds and aches and pains at bay. The production of extra oestrogen and testosterone hormones “will keep your bones and muscles healthy, leaving you feeling fabulous inside and out”.

The NHS Direct website also guides people on contraception use and problems.

Investment & Wealth Creation Advice:

Please note that our advice is primarily for investors and not for speculators. Investors typically invest with 12-60 month investment perspective. You will therefore find that our advice does not change substantially from issue to issue.

We expect Sensex to come down to 7000-8000 level in the next few months. So, it is going to be a very good time for investments in good stocks.

Also, those who want to invest in realty in India should wait for some time as the flat and land prices are expected to come down substantially in the next 3-4 quarters.

Do consult your investment advisor before making any investment decisions.

Do not purchase shares of a good company at a wrong price. Also, do not purchase shares of a bad company even at a very low price.

Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your portfolio to de-risk. Do not put more than 33% of your investible funds in stocks or mutual funds. Do not invest in stocks, mutual funds or realty when their prices are quite high. From the high levels, these prices normally come down by about 40-50% and that is when many people lose their hard earned money in a big way.

Make sure that you are not one of those big losers. Make sure that you invest when prices are low and divest when prices are high. Please note that 2009 is going to be a great year for investing your money in stocks, mutual funds & realty in India.
