WHAT LUCK! AAMIR & SRK IN A FILM (BT,Mum,22Jan09,Pg1)
... that’s what debutant director Zoya Akhtar has achieved in her spoof on Bollywood

This is a coup for any director in Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan in one film! Take a bow, Zoya Akhtar — you’ve managed to do that in your debut film. The long wait for cinema audiences everywhere is now over with Zoya’s Luck By Chance (produced by Excel Entertainment and Reliance Big Pictures) hitting the screens on January 30.

Interestingly, the Khans play themselves in the film, but regretfully don’t share screen space and appear at different times individually. SRK interacts with Farhan and Aamir with Konkona. Both superstars have excellent relationships with Farhan and Zoya and both wanted to support this film.

Even though Aamir doesn’t do cameos, he readily agreed because he is familiar with the set-up having worked with producer Ritesh Sidhwani and director-actor Farhan in Dil Chahta Hai. Also, Aamir who works on bound scripts only, had already read Luck By Chance’s script when Zoya took it to him for feedback some years ago. So that was also okay.

“Initially, we were in a fix wondering how to talk to him, knowing his stance on cameos, till dad called me up to say he had spoken to Aamir,” explained the petite Zoya. Once dad Javed Akhtar succeeded with Aamir, SRK was easy to approach. “I personally spoke to Shah Rukh. But I won’t like to take the credit alone, because both actors did it out of friendship for Farhan and Ritesh. There is a lot of respect between all of us,” she added.

The film has Bollywood as its backdrop with Farhan playing a struggling actor opposite Koknona. “This is the first original story that gives you an insider’s journey of the film industry. A struggler’s experience,” said Ritesh. And here’s another little secret: Aamir shot for the film when he was in the midst of Ghajini and had the tonsured look; so, the consummate actor agreed to wear a wig for Zoya!

Britney Spears to sign tell-all book deal! (BT,Mum,22Jan09,Pg39)

Britney Spears is set to sign a £10 million book deal. The Womanizer singer is expected to begin writing her tell-all tome when she finishes her sell-out world tour The Circus Starring: Britney Spears.

A source said, “There have been numerous unofficial biographies printed about Britney, but she’s never agreed to pen her own tome — until now. And some of the stories she’s got are absolute dynamite. She’s kept diaries, so there’s nothing she’ll leave out unless she wants to. If the deal goes ahead she will write between three and five books throughout the next decade. It’s one of the most lucrative book deals in showbiz history. Britney will talk frankly about growing up and how she went off the rails. It’ll be a gripping read.”

Kournikova pregnant? (TOI,Mum,22Jan09,Pg31)

Russian tennis player Anna Kournikova has sparked pregnancy rumours after she was photographed in a loose fitting dress. Kournikova caught the attention of online celebrity gossip websites with the dress, and they have been speculating if she is hiding a growing baby bump with it, reports the Daily Telegraph.

She was recently photographed in Miami while on holiday with her boyfriend Enrique Iglesias. In the photo, she was seen wearing the white dress, which is a change from her usual wear of bikini and shorts.

Investment & Wealth Creation Advice:

Please note that our advice is primarily for investors and not for speculators. Investors typically invest with 12-60 month investment perspective. You will therefore find that our advice does not change substantially from issue to issue.

We expect Sensex to come down to 7000-8000 level in the next few months. So, it is going to be a very good time for investments in good stocks.

Also, those who want to invest in realty in India should wait for some time as the flat and land prices are expected to come down substantially in the next 3-4 quarters.

Do consult your investment advisor before making any investment decisions.

Do not purchase shares of a good company at a wrong price. Also, do not purchase shares of a bad company even at a very low price.

Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your portfolio to de-risk. Do not put more than 33% of your investible funds in stocks or mutual funds. Do not invest in stocks, mutual funds or realty when their prices are quite high. From the high levels, these prices normally come down by about 40-50% and that is when many people lose their hard earned money in a big way.

Make sure that you are not one of those big losers. Make sure that you invest when prices are low and divest when prices are high. Please note that 2009 is going to be a great year for investing your money in stocks, mutual funds & realty in India.
